Flacq is Mauritius' largest district, lying on the east coast and famous for its vast sugarcane plantations and the island's largest lake, Mare aux Vacoas. The tropical climate stays warm year-round-ranging from 70°F to 85°F (21°C to 29°C)-so during the drier winter months from May to October, you can windsurf or kitesurf in the calm Indian Ocean off Belle Mare beach.
