Gozo is the second-largest island in the Maltese archipelago, famous for its dramatic coastline and the 5,500-year-old Ġgantija temples. Its Mediterranean climate means hot, dry summers (July highs around 86°F/30°C) perfect for diving the Blue Hole, a 10-meter deep sinkhole off the coast of Dwejra, and mild, wet winters (January highs about 57°F/14°C) ideal for exploring the walled Citadel in Victoria without the crowds. In spring (March to May), you can hike the 12-kilometer Gozo Coastal Walk with wildflowers in bloom, while autumn (September to November) offers calmer seas for snorkeling at the Inland Sea cave.
